Tenacious D rizes again

Credit: IMDB

Jack Black is back (in black?) along with Kyle Gass. Cuing jokes about bands rising from the ashes and poor spelling being kewl, Tenacious D will release a third album, Rize of the Fenix, this May, Mxdwn reports.

Black, who most recently gussied up The Muppet Movie with a tickling guest-starring role, is going to release the album with Gass prior to joining Sasquatch! Music Festival in Washington State and Download Festival in the UK this summer. The latter festival will include such luminaries as Metallica, Rise Against, and Black Sabbath. Most likely some of these bands will provide enough self-mockery on their own without Tenacious D’s mock-rock adding to the fun, but who couldn’t use a little more humor in their music?

As for the album itself, you can take a listen to the tile track here. If the song is anything to go by, the rest should be worth a listen, as well.
